My custom SV1000

I have owned this particular SV since 2005. Mileage is over 155,000 miles. I have swapped motors from an 2005 SV. There is a long list of upgrades and changes. This is still not a finished product by any means. I'll be adjusting and fine tuning the mods I have made. I did a quick assembly to get riding to Moto GP in Austin last weekend. Hope you guys enjoy. ? More pics of upgrades to come soon.

What does the left side look like?
Is there a reason you are only running a single sided brake?
How does it run with those straight pipes?

As long as the master cylinder is a reasonable size for the single caliper, it should work plenty well for street use.

Sure, you can overheat it at the track, maybe even on the street if you're riding really hard, but for the way 95% of people ride it'll be fine.

I guess the one time I could see an issue without too much warning is a hard stop from high speed. I don't know if it has enough heat capacity to threshold brake from top speed to zero. In other situations, I've always had significant warning that my brakes are getting hot, and can back off a little to let them cool. I'd probably want to run pads that work well at higher temperatures vs what I tend to run on the street, and make sure the fluid is fresh, but I wouldn't be worried for reasonable street use.

As a young Ronald Reagan utters in the 1942 film, "King's Row", "WHERE'S THE REST OF ME??"

To each his own, I suspect.
