Don't get me wrong,I think it's good that more drivers are aware of motorcyclists, however i have had a couple of recent encounters which have scared the S*@t out of me. :o

Out yesterday and came up behind a Peugeot 406 on a local B road.Driver had obviously seen(and heard I guess :P ) me indicated to the nearside and pulled over to let me pass, problem was the road has a blind crest and i thought sod this, wait until you can see what's going on.

As i didn't pass the driver made an even bigger gesture, indicating again and pulling over even further ,this time putting two wheels on the grass verge :o ,dust and crap everywhere, pulling the steering to the nearside, and his correction pulled the car into the centre of the oncoming lane.

Just glad i hadn't decided to overtake at that point. :o

Seems that drivers are making an effort but are getting stroppy if we don't pass when they indicate, personally i like to have my destiny in my own hands.

Better to get there in one piece than not at all.

I also like the other end of the spectrum with those who deliberately cut you off as you are filtering through traffic,

Being the defensive rider i am, I plan and take an alternative route. There's always one though <_<

Common thing here.People see a motorcycle they allmost drive to off the road. Better to saty far behind or overtake quickly.

Have been near the front of a group of riders slowly passing traffic on a ride-out. A taxi in front swerves deliberately to make the rider in front of me take avoiding action. The driver then turns to his passengers with a big grin and says something. I see red and take his mirror out with my fist which drops off and, as I learnt from the rider behind me later on, he runs clean over his mirror sending it to the scrapyard.

This guy made a point of swerving into the path of a motorcycle rider who was passing him at 10mph - what a wan*er/

I see many people pull over and expect me to pass. I ride my own ride and pass only when I know it is safe to do so. Even so, I always acknowledge the gesture and thank the driver for their consideration just in case they turn into the taxi driver above for the next rider.

Agreed. I really hate riding with people that pass too "courtiously". The quicker you are around them, the less chance they are going to knock you into tomorrow!
