In the latest issue of cycle world there was an article about Buell racing in the formula extreme. In the article the described the FX rules as four cyl. Limited to 600 cc liquid cooled twins up to 750 cc and air cooled twins can go out to 1350 cc and extensive mods. This gives the Buells equivalent performance.
My question is, a 750 cc liquid cooled twin sounds like an SV 650 bored out a bit. Has anyone heard if there is a team going to race or not. Could such a bike be competitive with the 600 4 an those monster twins?
It would be really koool to have an SV to root for in the FX class an especially at Daytona. :Punk: (w00t) if anyone has any knowledge about this either way let me know.

Gunzzz, there is a company here in the UK that do rebores and tuning for the SV650 but can't remember the details. Don't think it would competitive against a tuned 600 4 cylinder though.
Some one will give a link I'm sure

That 750 rule pretty much allows the Ducati 749...
The most HP I've heard of out of a really reworked SV650/700/750 is just a bit over 100 HP.. On a "horsepower" track like Daytona, any bike making around 100 HP would get absolutely KILLED by the I-4's making 125+ HP.. Even with the reconfigured track they still run a good bit at top end on the banking..

It's JHS (http://www.jhsracing.co.uk/start.htm) that dedicate their time to SV's and particularly the mini twins. James Holland races one!

The FX Buells(that would be considered anywhere near competitive) make in excess of 130hp...but usually not for long!! You would use up money slower by setting it on fire, than trying to make an SV "ready" for that class!

my buddy's TLR made 130rwhp with only yosh slip-ons & a PC-III. no shit, i saw the dyno graph.

Falicon, I think makes a stroker kit for the 650. Should bump you up to 750. Not to mention all the other lightweight goodies that they have. Look up Falicon. It's expensive though.
