View Full Version : SV thou - why not?

I'm a bit of a fraud at the moment as I haven't bought an SV thou ............... yet.
I'm currently on a well modded '00 650S (thanks JHS Racing) and after test riding the thou today was offered a staggering deal by Fowlers of Bristol. What I'm wondering and hoping you guys can tell me is:
What are the reasons I shouldn't get a thou? Gimme all the bad points, especially if you too graduated from a 650. I know all the good things but show me the warts so I don't get disappointed.
Cheers

Howz about just reading through the different threads on this board? It's all out there man...put a little effort forth and you'll be surprised.

Riding position a little longer stretch, takes a little more umphhh to turn the bike quickly. Can generate significant wheelspin exiting corners (kinda hard to do on SV650, that's what I love about it, you can nail the throttle at full lean and not worry, not so with the thou)
Little more expensive, not as much aftermarket support......yet.
First year of production, bugs may be present.
That's about all the negatives I can think of. I can give a ton of positives though.
If it's time to get a new bike, go for it. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Thanx for the helpful response JE - I'm glad this seems to be such a challenging question for others!

Challenging?...I thought it was a stupid question. There's threads all over this board with information about the SV1000. If you had put a little effort forth you wouldn't have had to even post this thread. I don't mind helping people as long as they are putting the effort forth to help themselves first. You just came off as someone too lazy to read through everything else on the board. Sorry.
