I like the sound of these.........in fact I'm ordering some.

The Personal Tagz® Company Ltd manufactures and sells bikerTagz®, ID specifically designed for bikers. bikerTagz® provide a practical and fashionable way to carry personal identification at all times. Each Tagz® is engraved with the wearers Name, Date of Birth, Blood Group, Gender, Nationality, Medication, Allergies and Next of Kin contact details. The wearer is given a unique identification number (TIN) which allows them to visit the bikerTagz® website and record more detailed personal information in their own secure personal file. The Emergency Services, Medical A&E, Police and Fire services are registered as ‘super-users’ and are able to access these detailed personal files in the event of an emergency. The wearer is able to choose their own security access levels limiting the amount of personal information that can be viewed by any group. Tagz® are available in a variety of colours. Check out our range at:

www.bikertagz.com (http://www.bikertagz.com/?aid=26)

The Personal Tagz® Company Ltd are proud to have a number of prominent Irish Motorcycle Road Racers wearing bikerTagz® this season.

bikerTagz® prices start from only €20.00 per set (apprx £14).

A set includes:

Postage & Packaging

2 X Diamond Engraved Tagz®

2 X Rubber Silencers

1 X Beaded Neck Chain

2 X Helmet Stickers with Blood Group

2 X Bike Stickers

These Tagz are not unlike the 'Dog' tags worn by the personnel of some armed forces. They contain crucial information that may help emergency services in case of an accident.
Apparently some Track Day organisers are now insisting that participants wear some form of identification (Dog Tags) suggesting that this will assist the medical teams and Marshals in the event of an accident.
For the street I think this is a great idea that may even save lives...follow the link above for more information.

Tried to set up a site discount but they don't do this. However I am now an 'agent' for bikerTagz promoting them on www.sv1000.inuk.com and so earn the grand sum of €1.50 per sale.
I'll use these funds to recoup the costs of running www.sv1000.inuk.com with surplus funds being 'donated' to Ash (Spankme) towards the costs of this site :D

For the 'commission' to be earned please make sure you use this link:

Thanks

Seems like a great idea to have quick ID, medical, and next-of-kin, info available for rescue personel who may be dealing with and uncounsious, or incoherent, motorcycle accident victim.

This all reminds me that my Schuberth helmet has a personal info compartment on the exterior for such purposes. I need to go put something in that now.

great idea. only question would be whether the paramedics would even notice it. although, i guess it could be like a medic-alert tag.

Great idea Andy, does the helmet sticker inform the public not to take you lid off?

andyw
21st March 2005, 11:46 AM
It does indeed.........but the sticker is not mentioned in the list of items you get so I'll confirm that every kit comes with at least a couple of stickers.

Great idea, Andy - thanks for the post!

Along the same lines. Cycle Gadgets will make you a nice laminated card with emergency contact info, personal info, and insurance/physician info for free. That's right, they do this as a service to bikers. I carry mine in a pocket of my riding suit, maybe not as accessible as tags.

See http://www.CycleGadgets.com.

Finally got round to emailing to find out for sure:

Hi Andy,

Each set of Tagz comes with two Tagz shaped bike stickers and two yellow
triangular information stickers that can be applied to either the bike or
your helmet. These are 'free'

A lot of our members and staff, myself included (I wear both AGV and Arai
helmets), attach the stickers to our helmets one either side in a prominent
position in order that they can be seen clearly in an emergency situation.
Our sticker supplier indicates that the adhesive used does not cause damage
to the surface. However neither our supplier nor The Personal Tagz® Company
Ltd can give any guarantee that the stickers are ‘safe’ because all Helmet
manufactures have different views about the application of ‘after market’
stickers. It is purely a personal choice of the helmet wearer, if in doubt
then please follow your helmet manufacturers recommendations/instructions.

The alternative which some Tagz® wearers choose is to apply them to their
bike, trouble is you and the bike may land some distance from each other
after a spill!

We are busy working on a design for a fabric patch which can be sewn onto
leathers or fabric clothing. Keep an eye out on our site for news of this
new patch.

Safe Riding.

Forgot to mention I've had mine for some time.

The one with the yellow protector is one of the original ones I had, stainless steel but I wasn't that happy with the finish so they made me a second set, alloy with the text 'blackened'. Apparently they can't blacken the text on the stainless steel tags (quite likely they'll discontinue stainless steel tags now).

Very happy with the quality and finish of the alloy tagz (available in a range of colours).

Biker Tagz web address on the back with personal ID number - emergency services/next of kin can obtain any additional information you record on the Tagz database (Doctors, GP, extended medical history, further family contacts and so on)

These are a good idea, also it should be noted that the AMA(for us Yanks) has these as well. Though I do not belive that they come with decals...I will have to check into it.

Slightly off topic but ties in with BikerTaz.........

"ICE" In Case of Emergency - A campaign encouraging people to enter an emergency contact number in their mobile phone's memory under the heading "ICE" (i.e. In Case of Emergency) has rapidly spread throughout the world as a particular consequence of the terrorist attacks in London. Originally established as a nation-wide campaign in the UK, ICE allows paramedics or police to be able to contact a designated relative / next-of-kin in an emergency situation...

Checkout the Safer Rider pages on www.SuzukiSV1000.com for more info.

the biker tagz website says they are temporarily unable to take orders. what's up with that? if some of us canadians want to order them can we do it through you? do they still come with the nifty stickers?

Sorry for the delay.......not spent much time on the forum over the last couple of months and missed your post.

BikerTagz will not be available for purchase again until Jan 2006 - one business partner taking over the full business. I'll update as soon as I know more.

Johna10ant

Perhaps not when I.C.E (In Case of Emergency) is now becoming so popular. Its free to put on your mobile and is one of the first places UK emergency services look now. Still a good idea though

Perhaps the SV attendees in Cumbria should also be aware of ICE.

Sorry for the delay in updating guys.............

The company directors were a husband wife team and the business was temporarily shut down while they sorted divorce procedings but time is getting on and I've not heard anything for months. Shame 'cos they had a good set up with the online database system storing additional medical info etc.

ICE is a bloody good idea but a couple of drawbacks to remember:
# Don't password lock your phone!!
# Phones break easily!!
ICE - In Case of Emergency (http://www.motorcycleinfo.co.uk/index.cfm?fa=contentGeneric.twhhyjzpxapzkouq&pageId=92479)

Tracy set up a thread on alternative Tags....not sure what the state of play is though, worth giving her a PM.

http://www.rangerjoes.com/dog-tags-with-chain-silver-p-210.html

you can get a set of dog tags at Ranger Joes for $7.50. if you have allergies i would suggest getting a second set in red and putting your allergies on there.

i have my dog tags from when i was in the army that i still wear all the time

Lace one into one of your riding boots and you don't have to wear them...

i usually wear sneakers or when i do wear boots they are hard racing boots so no laces. i'm used to around my neck.

I also found a site that does this same thing, for about the same price.
http://www.id-ideas.com/

They have a discount for quantity orders though. Normally the tags are like 7.50 for one, but with the qty discount it's like 2.50 for one, with between 10-25 orders. The only problem is that you can only change 2 lines of text (out of the 6). I'd be interested in getting a group of people together to order, but what would we do with the other 4 lines? Put generic info like "do not remove helmet" or something? Any ideas or feedback??
