Anyone notice?

I should be picking up my new SV1KS next week. When I was at the dealer I noticed both the left and right side exhaust pipe have a dent directly underneath the foot pegs. Was this done for clearance or is this not normal?

There wasn't another SV1Ks in the house to compare to.

The TLR had exactly the same indents. They are part of making the exhaust system fit the bike - the replacement full Yoshi System on the TLR had less pronounced indents which I guess gave better gas flow.

You mean where it looks as though someone's just taken a hammer to the pipework and tried to flatten it? :o

I can't believe any two pipes are the same!

Must admit, it does look a bit Micky Mouse - exactly like someone, namely Suzuki, have taken a hammer to make the pipe fit. I'm sure they could have done better with all the computer programmes used for designing and building bikes in use nowadays. Looks like someone offered the pipes, they didn't fit so squashed them in a vice. All the same, the resulting performance does not seem to suffer too much.

The performance was actually my point. Mandrel bent means nothing when you take a hammer to it afterwards.
