Well, here I am... :P

Firstly, cheers to the admin on a top site that is a wealth of GOOD info. :)

I live in Brisbane, Australia and have been the owner of a Honda VTR250 for 3.5 years and a Cagiva V-Raptor for 18 months.

The VTR is my work commuter.

The Raptor is an absolute beast, being powered by the TL1000 engine and all, and with the stock pipes completely gutted and rebuilt, the snorkel to the airbox removed and the FI remapped, the HP went from 108 at the wheel to just shy of 116. :D

I love my Raptor to death, but sadly, I am virtually being forced to trade it in because getting parts for it is next to impossible.

I have been waiting on a new set of horns for it for 12 months now, and still have no ETA on them. :( Why do I need a new set you ask? because a (ex) firned put it into an earth embankment at 170kph+ after being on it for 4mins.

She then went on to blame the accident on the bike, not that doing that speed on a bike you have never been on on a gravel covered country road had anything to do with it or anything.

Suffice to say, I am really pissed off and stressed about the whole deal.

I have been tracking the progress of the SV1000 since the first media reports about it came out and have been driving the local Suzuki dealer nuts with the constant asking for an ETA.

Finally, I got the call to say they had just had them delivered and were assembling them as we spoke, but did not have a demo.

Two weeks later, I was just packing up after doing a 12hr night shift when I got the call to say they just had a demo delivered and that i could be the first to ride it.

I rode home to have a shower before heading back down, but sadly, I didn't make it home. :(

I was not more than 90secs from my house when the idiot 2 cars in from of me slammed on their brakes because they had just missed their turnoff and caused a 4 vehicle pile-up.

I place blame on myself for hit the back of the car in front of me because I was so damn tired, but also had my mind on the SV. My reactions were just that little bit to slow and I hit the car at approx 10kph.

Anought for me to slide up over the tank and mash the wedding tackle on the handle bars and do $1K to my poor little VTR.

Needless to say, I was too sore to do a test ride that day and the following weekend, it pissed down rain...soooo, this weekend, I hope it is fine so that I can finally get a test ride.

If I like the ride and the CFO like the pillion seat, the I am a definite taker. ^_^

Mind you, the sacrifice is the trade in of the Raptor AND the VTR. between the 2, i hope to geta $0 change over and may get AM pipes thrown in.

I have been looking at the Renegade combo of high pipes and airbox and like the concept, but I think the cans look too small for a 1000.

Also, the finish in the photos looks like they are mat black. Are they really mat black or can you see the carbon fibre pattern in real life?

Anyway, that is a marathon for the first post and I hope to talk to everyone regularly.

Regards,
Morphias. B)
