This company is making loads of money out of Ringtones. People download the tones at £3.00 a time and unwittingky end up in a Jamster Club where they are charged £3 every week.

Well heres how to get tones off of their website for FREE onto your PC, for you to then transfer to your phone.

Go to: www.jamster.co.uk

Choose your model of phone in the drop down box to get the right tone for your phone.

Click the preview button on the tone you want.

Let the tone play in full.

Then close the played window.

Then go to "Tools" on the I.E toolbar
Then "Internet Options"
Then "Settings"
"View Files"

And the ring tone should be near the bottom of the list.

Just copy and paste to your desktop.

It should be near the bottom of your temporary internet files.

Did you let the whole tone play first.

What one did you want.

Yep - tone played in full - what file type do I look for - no particular ring tone just thought I'd scavenge a few for the kids.

Thanks

The easiest way to do it is to right click and press save target as on the sample. I then save them in my folders, connect my bluetooth dongle and send them to my mobile for free!

Just tried it, doesn`t work on jamstar but it does on othe websites such as o2 where I get mine but why anyone would want this F`in crazy frog is beyond me.

I only have Win 2000 (work?????!!!!) not XP - is this the reason the files are not there?

May have to try that, and release an album...

The guys who made Crazy Frog (which used to be called Human Motorcycle, made millions from it)

These ringtone sites are now making millions from our kids, with not very clear get out clauses. I get people coming to my shop all the time, asking why their kids credit is dissapearing so quick.

Any other tips, ill put them on here....

The best way is direct from pc to phone as, like KitKat said, you pay dial up or GPRS costs.

GPRS can cost up to £7.50 per MB downloaded.

Thanks Adam for that, my dearly beloved spent most of last night listening to and downloading loads of ring tones, 99.9% of which are so bloody awful it is dificult to tell what the original tune was. When I asked how long she was planning to be she did point out that at least she was not on ebay. So once again thanks, I may not have been able to log on here until late but I must have saved a fortune as she never went near ebay all night.

how do you get the tone from pc to phone?
do you have to buy a connecter or something?

If the phone hads Bluetooth then you can buy a bluetooth dongle for the PC and send it that way or I use an infrared connection 9it's easier than trying to get the Bluetooth working correctly on the laptop).

I have boycotted ringtones, when a phone rings and plays a tune, I think TOSSER... even if I like the tune. So I don't want people to think the same of me, so I don't have them!

I do have the theme tune from the littlest hobo on my phone but I have it set to a ring ring...

I feel similar. I use a standard sony erricson ring tone. The wife likes her ringtones. I downloaded the annoying Crazy Frog video for her using Limewire.

My phone has an MP3 player so I have the odd song on it.

Anyone got the traditional type of ringtone in a midi or mp3 format please?

I have now upgraded to the Sony Ericcson W800i and whilst the camera/walkman/themes/games are great, the bundled ringtones sadly, are not.

All I would like is a "ring ring" type of tone as that seems to be the only I ever hear.

Thanks in advance :)

A great site Warren for Free SonyEricsson Java games is: http://maestro.intramail.ru/files/java/index.php?page=1&sort=date

I have downloaded loads and all work. Just download to PC, then send the file to your phone and open it on the phone and it will install the game....

I have a D750i at the moment with a 1GB Mem stick, but am changing it for the W800i next week. Great phone...

This one was passed round the department some time ago.

Probably NSFW as it has a flash animation (the video version) and a bit of swearing. Takes the piss out of crazy frog.

Still no luck. I get the directory headings but when I click on sonyericsson it prompts for a username and password for a network password. Tried OKing it with no username or password but no luck.

The login box says the Realm is SecureFiles if that helps. Not sure what it means myself. Don't touch on Internet security much in my job. Mainly client PC software development.
