I'd like someone's leftover SV1K rear mud flap so I can attempt to cut it down to something a little less outrageous without risking doing something unfixable to my original. Hopefully one not too damaged by your removal process. Will pay a modest amount, plus shipping. Please PM me with an offer.

Afterburner, just cut that thing off and get yourself a thin piece of sheet metal or aluminum at the local hardware store, bend it and drill four holes in it! You don't need to get an undertail to make it look good.
You don't really want that plastic hunk (cut down or not) on your sweet lookin' SV do ya? B)

good luck. nittyp.

Thanks Nittyp, I think that will be plan B.

Plan A is to keep the blinkers and plate light, but compress it to minimum vertical space and move it inward a couple of inches. Then if that still looks bad I'll abandon plan A and go to plan B.

Bet nobody wants to get rid of the original part - most people expect to buy a bike as standard or at least with all of the standard parts ^_^

You may be right, Bjam666. So far it looks like you are. On the other hand, one of my other bikes has a notoriously bad seat (much worse than the SV1K) and people on the forum for that bike (Intruder) actually give them away for nothing when they replace them. Even at that, the only takers are people who have damaged seats. So we'll see what happens here. I have high hopes.

If nothing comes of it, I'll probably buy that new bracket at Oneida Suzuki. It doesn't look very good, but it certainly looks better than the original part and does exactly what I want to do.

I have mine stored away for the same reason. One day it will be replaced when I sell the bike ....unless .....if the right price is offered, I'll sell the fender seperately.

Make me an offer.

I saw one on ebay today.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention, SV1benny. I'm very tempted to bid on it. I'm a little put off that his starting price is $30 (fixed $15 shipping plus opening bid $15), HE'S AN ALL CAPS MORON (AND LOTS OF EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!), and he's makes it a pain in the butt by requiring postal money order (no Paypal).
Still, I'm tempted. It's exactly what I want to tinker with.

Well, BJam666 was right. Nobody here wanted to part with theirs. I ended up getting one on eBay. I'll work on it when the weather gets colder.

Mie has got to be sold with the undertray fitted, I took my jigsaw to the pooper scooper! Mind you who, other than some sick individual would want to fit something so bloody ugly back onto a bike?

Either that, or they do intend to use it to clear the lawn of dogsh*t!
