Just a couple of picies of my new Carbon Fibre tank protector.

Made by a local Co called Geelong Carbon Craft.
They do a good job, I've had their stuff before.

Think of a reasonable figure and double it...nay, triple it!!

Personally, I don't like it, it is too big and spoils the finish of the paint! Mind you, you do have a slow silver one...are you trying to cover up the real colour of your bike????

That's just the problem Andy, you see a lot of me was leaning on the tank and spoiling the paintwork so in my case BIG is better.

Wasn't sure about the look first up either but it's ok now its been on for a few days.

Sorry almost missed it, the price was $120 Aussie dollars that's about $81 US dollars and they would most likely ship to the States, not sure on the cost of P&P though.

This looks OK but there is one problem I can see. Most of the wear on my tank is at the side where your leg rubs. Ride the bike in the wet and all the road grit is thrown up into the space between your upper thigh and the tank with the result looking like sandpaper. The tank cover doesn't address this problem whereas the TankSlapper product does. :D

....and it's the straight edge across the top that I really don't like but from what Nico says it's another case of function over form.

I've seen the Tankslapper kit (fitted to Brians bike)...you hardly notice the transparent protectors and the kit includes protection for the sides of the tank....only question I'd have is how long will the Tankslapper protection last before it needs replacing as obviously it's a pretty thin film.

I have the clear film to go on the sides of the tank but I was waiting to get the carbon fitted first so as to give me an edge to work to.

I can attest to the tank slapper product too! It's held up very well. It does have a few scuffs, but that would be the paint scuffed otherwise. Much cheaper to put on a new $15 TS every couple years. An no one knows it's there. 5
