it happened. i was on the way to an anatomy lab and i had an off. i was not speeding, but was in a lean. i came upon a patch of oil dry. it was there from a previous accident earlier in the day. i had been on the road 2.5 hours earlier and it wasn't there. my front tire immediately went out and down i went. that was about two hours ago and i am still in shock. my jeans and shoes shredded, causing a good bit of rash. my arm and shoulder are no better. i have gear and was not wearing on the 1.5 mile ride to class. (all leather and its 95 degrees)i think that i may have cracked my clavicle, but have not been to the hospital yet. the bike is not awful, but bad all the same. i am looking for some batteries for pics. on top of the pain, i am just sick about my bike and stupidity. it could of been way worse, lots of traffic around.

OUCH! Terrible to hear about your off - sounds like you're writing while still bleeding! Go to the freaking doctor already!

I sometimes wonder why I bother putting on my gear for a short stint... and you have very unfortunately reminded me why.

Go :doctor: now.

I like wearing my jacket to class. Then everyone knows I ride a motorcycle, hehehe. ;)

Hellooooooooooooo ladies!

Sorry to hear about your off, man. That sucks a fat one!!! Hopefully nothing is seriously wrong, and you'll make a speedy full recovery!

Don't worry, you will know it if you broke your collarbone. After the adrenaline wears off, when you try to lift your arm above your shoulders and hear grinding sounds, then you've broke it.

All the same, go have a once over done, if nothing else for peace of mind.

Glad you're not any worse.

yeha, i may still be bleeding a little. i have already soaked in the shower and cleaned my wounds. i think that i can treat the rash, its the shoulder that worries me. it just seems sore and tight. i would say the pain should be worse if its broken. i know that my shoulder dislocations hurt way worse.
here are some pics of my body. still too sick to look at the bike:weep:

They do say the most common accidents happen close to home. Sorry to hear....sounds like you couldn't do anything.

Similar thing happened to a friend of mine. Heck, it's all too similar :wallbash:

Worry about body first...bike will be fine.

Gaaa! - looks like you're trying to take your licking like a man and giving the finger to the Doc. Well... maybe you're gonna show the scars to the gals in class? Can I recommend that you do so three weeks from now after the scabs have gone?

Hey, I ended up with 17 stitches and a gigantic rash from standing in front of a 10 ft. wave while on volcanic rock... should have worn my leathers instead of my swimsuit... actually I should have switched on my brain first.

Shit happens sometimes - good luck and get well.

yeah i guess i will be long on cred. i looked at the bike and upper fairing is toast. mirror gone, bar end, and brake lever. right side muffler is dented and scratched to hell. micron said they would fix for me. the worst thing is the road rash on my front wheel. time to powdercoat some things and find a new fairing.

dude, sorry to hear about your off. i broke my collarbone once and the doc told me it was one of the most painfull breaks you can have besides your femure, and anything worse than that should make you unconsious in a perfect world so you could wake up heavily medicated. on the plus side (and my mother hates it when i say these things) bones heal, and chicks dig scars.:cool2:

Get some of those bar-through sliders too!!

You've inspired me to install mine, as well.....

That looks painful. I'm sorry to see all that happened. :(

Sorry to hear of this but glad you didn't come out of it worse.
Take care of you. Its a motorcycle and it can be fixed but of course its upsetting. I like to think of that sort of thing as a customizing opportunity.

Ouch! :pinch: Sorry to hear about your off and your bike's damage but you are alive and that's what counts. Good luck on healing fast and getting your SV back together. :niceone:

Heel well, and go get that shoulder checked - might not be broken but could be cracked.

You ain't a real biker till you can show the scars. They are like the awards we get on here.

Still hope you heal fast and the bike too.

thanks for all the support. i still feel like the biggest idiot. i always wear my gear, but decided it was too hot. i sure wish that i put up with the sweat. i will upddate some pics later. the rash is definitel looking worse. shoulder still sore, but my insurance just expired. so, the doc is a last resort. i know that's stupid too, but i am pretty broke.

I just told my buddy that the other day... Another friend NEVER wears any gear... He tells me I dress like I am planning on crashing... That was the most ignorant thing he's EVER said... I asked him, "when should I put it on?" "after the crash?" :wack:

Glad you're still kicking.

Grab some of that spray neosporian(sp?) and get that rash covered with it. That stuff ROCKS!
