Hi all
There have been numerous threads with bikes and babes, belonging to, or admired by the shrewd members of this honorable portal.
Now I think the time has come to show your Helmets.
A helmet shows who you are or at least who you want to be.
It’s a most personal piece of safety "garment" (wowooow its nearly porn - this is)
Post a picture of your helmet/helmets, and feel free to apprise the lid if you feel a need to do so.
So come on you - Show your LID!

My helmet for the last year or so:
Schuberth R1
A wonderful helmet with luxuries interior comes with build in “sunglass”.
- a bit noisy at low frequency at high speeds (+130 km/t)
I LOVE IT!
Before that:
SHOEI XR800
A good helmet not giving me any problems for the 5 years of loyal duty

I have had this Shoei RF 1000 for about a year. Great helmet, super comfortable, although can get a bit noisey at speed.

I'm wearing an Arai and I love it. I've had Icons and a Shoei in the past
but the Arai is my favorite so far. The only picture I have of it is when
it was on my Warrior.

I'm feeling deprived with only three!
An Arai Astro R for best
A Shoei Synchrotec II for commuting
A Lazer MX6 Hawk for getting down and dirty
But I have never felt the urge to take pictures of my lids?

I don't think it was worth the 350 they want for it. It's noisy as hell and not the best aerodynamically. I'm probably going to try and exo-700, shoei, or arai next.

Here is one of mine... I have an older X-Vent AGV as well but this is my newest one... and I had another AGV before that one too.... AGV rocks as long as you get one of the Italian Made ones... the Czech ones are OK.. but I am undecided about the china ones as chinese manufacturing is questionable
AGV is great... decent price, good features.. and quality is first rate (on the Italian ones anyway)

It's an icon.. what do you expect  sorry I had to say it... I am decidedly anti-icon because of all the squids wearing it..... and their stuff is often over priced and under quality.... more bling than anything....
Stick with Shoei, AGV, ARAI and you know you are going to get a good quality product....

Heres my Shark RSX Oxydium, which I've had for 2 & 1/2 years now. I got it at a bargain $AU 450 back then, reduced from $AU 600. though these helmets are now on sale here in some places for $AU 250! my previous helmet is a HJC CL-12, which i used for too long, and is sitting gathering garage dust. the first helmet i had was an FM cheapie, which i gave to a friends son. The Shark RSX helmet is comfy, and has less noise than the HJC. what won me was the Black and white combo colouring.

Of all the lids I've owned, this was my favourite. It was a new black Arai Quantum F that I got on sale for £220. Then got a local company to spray it with my design. Loved it as it was totally unique, and used it every day for 3 years. It has since been retired from active service, but I really should put it on a shelf or something!! Photo's don't do it justice, they did an outstanding job on it.
Have had a few since, an Arai Astro-R Saltire which was also fab but did it's job when I crashed the other halfs Hornet. Currently have a black Arai RX-7 Corsair. Not sure what I fancy next as the current one is nearing the end of it's life. Will be an Arai, but not sure what yet.
So here are the last few...

Thinking of buying the Caberg Trip. I like flip fronts (glasses friendly) and have a Shoei Multitech at present which has now become a little loose. The Caberg Trip has 5 star rating vs the shoei 3 star as well as some nice touches like the flip down tinted visor. Anyone had any experience on noise levels quality etc etc please. ps Star rating is the new UK govt SHARP ratings system www.sharp.direct.gov.uk
Happy New Year all.

Thanks Bunky33, I dont think thats possible as the only bits that come out are the cheekpads and the last thing I want is to risk safety by taking anything else apart. When I bought it, I was unsure as to just how tight it should be and how much it might "break in" having only had open faced and trials type helmets before. I will still use the lid for quadbike work related stuff and as a spare so it wont go wasted and it is not so loose as to fall off or anything.
Is anyone out there using the Caberg Trip ?

Noise is an issue on the Shoei Multitec at speed and has got worse as it settles in, even after adjustment to the visor hinges. I ride with earplugs on all but the shortest of trips.
The Justissimo is a Caberg helmet, the top one they do.
I tried a Caberg Justissimo toady at the dealers, (no Trip available) felt good and tight but there is no SHARP rating for it yet. It can be converted to proper open face if you wanted as well as all the Trip features. £149 Also asked about re-fitting of my Shoei but he did not inspire confidence...............:HMM:
Time to find a dealer with the Trip in stock
