My very first track day, I had a blast!!!!

Many good and bad, crazy day I guess. Many thing happened, a Super Motard blow his engine and spill oil across Turn 6 through 9, took us almost a hour to clean it up. A turtle got on the track and wreck a guy on a gixxer6, and about 1 wreck per session, yesterday is not a lucky day for most of us. and the temperature was really hot.

Jennings is about 2 miles, 14 turns counterclockwise. I signed up for Intermediate group and rode for 5 session. I stayed in their middle pack, so it wasn't too bad. I love the fast section right before you reach turn 3 to 5, its wicked fun. I went off twice but lucky I can ride around the runoff area and continue. First time I brake way too late on Turn 1 and I locked up my rear so instead of trying I just go straight into the runoff. 2nd time I ran off track is really scary, in between turn 13 and turn14, on top of 3rd gear and almost highsided, I straight it up and rode thru the grasses and sand again.

Anyway, I learned a lot, I increase my pace little bit little, by the end of the day I feel really comfortable with my speed and line, and my time is pretty consistent. Not as fast as those expert group rider, but anyway... :)
My tires are nicely worn, but unfortunately my knee puck are hardly touched. I don't know if the SV just heavy or it has higher center of gravity, I can't have it lean anymore than what I did, but I do grind my footpeg and my toe protector part of my boot very so often. so I don't know?
My friend Kevin did some really good lap, he pulled some 1:25 lap time consistenly, but unfortunately when he shoot for faster lap time he low sided at Turn 13 and messed up his bike pretty bad.

Anyway, here are some pic

he is kinda upset, especially his gixxer is the Alstare Edition, noticed it said GSXR600Z on the tag?

anyway.. we had a blast, and I am happy this set of pilot is done(not saying its bad, but its not good enough for situation like yesterday event).
I think Metzeler M1 is next.

How far are you from Jennings? I am about an hour and a half I guess here in Gainesville. Last time I was up there, it was with a friend to see her uncle. There were a ton of SV650's there. This was months ago, but I took photos as well. I really want to get back up there sometime soon and actually ride it myself. I think I'll wait until the love bugs are gone though. I rode yesterday and I still have them on my boots and helmet - but the bike is clean. :)

Here are some photos I took when I was up there in December.

That front tyre is shagged, SCARILY   shagged, I'd be looking to get the front end suspension sorted, if I had a tyre feathered and blistered like that after 1 track day......

Other than that top photo's...Do the organisers supply the cannopies, or did you take your own????????

I was on the purple and white RC51 that went down in the afternoon. It was a really fun track and a great day. I had a blast even though I went down between 10 and 11. I cooked the rear tire and it didn't hold up. that was my first experience with cooking a tire.

I have re-ordered most parts and need to get the bike ready for more track time! I am probably going to buy an SV1000S this week for my street bike.

A bunch of my local riding club buddies went back up to Jennings yesterday. They said it was ridiculously hot, but still had a blast. So far they have only posted one picture on our site. Here it is. My friend Ryan (and former WERA champ - years ago) leading a friend of his into one of the corners...
