You folks don't know me but i would like to say hi. i just purchased my first motorcycle...a SV1000S. I looked at American, British, Italian and Japanese bikes. You have to believe that this bike offers the best value for the buck and to me, is damned good looking. I couldn't be happier with my decision. It now has 102 miles on the clock.

I'm looking forward to making some alterations. It is a little quiet so some new cans are on the want list.

I have been watching the forum for a few days and you guys are awesome.

Although i feel i should change my forum name to something other than my real name ...perhaps... whyismystupidasssonstandingontopofhisgastank? or whatwillmywifenowwantbecauseibotthismotorcycle? any suggestions?

Hah I like the second name choice. My purchase of the SV was thought over for a good 18 seconds or so when just cruising through the dealer, and I got a load of shit for it. Couple weeks into it she tells me I need to pay as much attention to her as I do the bike...I think she meant spend money, because she saw the packages of parts coming from all over the globe!

Anyway, enjoy the bike, you got a great one. They are tons of fun, just lose your fender and get some pipes ASAP! Nothing better than being up about 6000 rpm and rolling off the gas and hearing that baby bellow!

Welcome aboard. It is nice to see another SV'er from Western Washington. You made a great choice. We are building our own riding group and you are welcome to join us for a ride.

Don't bother changing your name. I never bothered to change mine.

My missis went and got rid of the 'practical' car and got an MX-5.

Naturally we discussed it first...

Me: "But then we won't have any practical transport between us."
Her: "If you're allowed a new bike, I'm allowed a new car."
Me: "Buh..."
Her: "If you think we should have a practical car, you can replace one of yours."

She got me there. 4 cars and a motorbike between the two of us. 3 of the cars are mine.

Now I just have to decide which one has to go :crybaby:

Welcome aboard. :D

Cheers

My wife finally got rid of her coupe earlier this year as the kids were moaning about a lack of leg room in the back. :bash: :bash: She is delighted as she can now buy and carry more clothes and shoes when she goes out shopping  As usual I was consulted about the practicalities and what car would be best  and then sent to pay and fetch it. :crybaby:
