I need a new left side frame cover. I was trying to install a fender eliminator kit which required me to remove the seat. the bolt stripped out as I struggled to get it loose so I ripped the frame cover off and removed the stripped bolt with a pair of pliers. the dealer wants to charge me 40 usd for a new one. I think thats ridiculous for a piece of plastic that doesn't do anything. anyone know where I can get one? Oh and the bike looks so much better without that huge rear fender. :nutkick:

I just checked Parts Fish http://www.powersportspro.com/partsfish/displayfiche.asp
and the dealer's price seems to be competetive. Sorry for the discouraging news.

Thanks for the heads up tzk321. I guess I'll buy it when it annoys me more to see it off. there are a few more accesories I plan on putting on the bike so I'll purchase those first. :wallbash:

Hey all, have you seen the OEM carbon fiber frame covers at www.suzukicycles.com? Does anyone know if they would fit the 2003 or 2004 SV1000S? They're listed under the 2005 model.

As far as I know it's the same frame.....

Does that fit the frame though?

I downloaded both pics of the 2003 and 2005. It looks like they redesigned the frame cover, and probably wouldn't fit. Toggle back and forth quick between the images at the same scale, and it's pretty obvious.

That's a bummer. I like the look.

I don't know....yes they re-shaped it, but the tank and rear fairings look the same....I might have to order them to find out....only $35 @ jt motorsports....I've got some more stuff I'll be ordering in a month or two....might have to throw these on the list.....

Since it's a piece of carbon fiber with adhesive on the back to go on your existing cover it may be possible to carefully modify it to fit. It certainly looks like it's formed to the contours and cut (most notable the rear brake resevoir area) of the '05. Guess you can be the guinea pig? :devil2:

I found several different types of carbon fiber sheets on eBay. Some are imitation, some look like the real thing.

Also, Motrax has something, too. http://www.motrax.co.uk/Index_pages/accessories/flexicacut.htm

Have been to Old Towne Alexandria on my bike but that was when new a yr. ago during my break-in. So, nope not me.

Some of that stuff on E-bay looks pretty good. Cut to shape and re-epoxy and sand the edges back to a nice finish and you could be in business. Might have to try it.
