Replaced the VFR with an SV

Hi all. Just wanna say I'm crazy happy about my new copper SV. Brought it home yesterday and been having a hoot on it since. Found this site a little while ago and must say it is "chock full of nuts" of information. Good stuff going on here and thanks for all the info guys.

One thing concerning me is all the talk about this "knocking" thing but I'll just hang tough and report anything I may experience concerning this "phenomenon".

Just let me say that this bike is absolutely a blast on the twisties. Had this big freagin grin on all day untill the law decided to spoil things...no harm done though. Just a brief interruption.

Anyway, just wanna say hello to everyone.

By the way, I listened to a set of m4 titaniums on a LT today..deep and throaty sounding. Just gotta have a set of these slip-ons.

And my VFR V-tec...gonna sit for awhile I'm afraid. Just aint gonna be that much fun any more after hootin' around on the SV. :beer:

Welcome HyperSV. I personally haven't had any problems with the "knocking". Plus none of the other SVers I've met have said anything about it. First mod would be to get rid of the snow shovel.

getting close to 2000 miles on my silver naked model now and no knock or any real problems period so have fun with the bike and welcome to the site :beer:

I would not worry about the 'knock" too much, it seems to have restricted to early K3 bikes.....If it does start, mail andyw with details as per the knock thread to see if there is a pattern emerging

Welcome. Aint the copper SV sweet?! Seriously a great bike. GSXR1k pulled up to me just this morning and said, "wow, it's the liter v-twin...haven't seen one up close yet....very cool". He then asked to hear the grunt, I replied, and I got the sense he was impressed as he just smiled and shook his head as I pulled away. Nice to not be like every other sport bike on the street.

At first glance the copper really didn't appeal to me that much sitting in the showroom. But after rolling 'er out in the sun :hug:

Gonna order up a set of M4 cans today..aluminum or Ti..not sure yet. Was checking out the 2->1 setup but I dig having "duelies". That deep throaty sound of the M4's is way to cool!

And I guess I gotta order up a new Arai Signet. Only helmet that fits my "watermelon" head comfortably. The Forte Bl/Red just doesn't cut it with the copper.
