Welcome to the site Matt,
Try looking in the Mods section, there is absalutly stack's of info around, or use the search facility. Just put in what your after and await for the wealth of knowledge to come flooding in.
The list is endless but is your wallet?
Some of the great thing's to do the bike are provided from members of the site.....the Hamicad fender eliminator and rad guards are stunning as is Chewys angled can mod!

Have a good lok around and keep us all updated!

If you want visual changes :shocking: have a look through my FAQ (link below).

There's info of a more technical nature :bash: in AndyW's FAQ (http://www.sv1000.inuk.com/).

Welcome to the site and Welcome to the Joys of SV1000 ownership.

Crash Bungs as said first, Hamicad Grills next. Do you want cosmetic or power output mods. How much do you want to spend?

Also look on the Discount section, as we have obtained discounts from quite a few companies, such as Ermax, Blueflame (ask for Rod), JHS racing, Busters etc.

This site is the SV bible.

Cheers
Adam

Hi again thanks for the welcome and advice as to cosmetic or power i think more cosmetic i was wondering if there were any essential mods (i also have a ZZR1100 and there were a few things i was advised to do that only owners know oil switch mods etc) can someone point me in the direction of a cheap but still looking like factory mod to get rid of that rear mudgaurd and what budget priced cans should i look out for (do end cans mess up the fueling?) thanks again and happy SVing all matt

Or suspension mods instead of power output mods. Fork springs of the correct springrate for your weight and a gixxer 1000 shock make a big difference for minor cash. Or the full monty treatment of new springs + revalve for the front and aftermarket shock for the rear. Even a step further there is a full gixxer 750 or gixxer 1000 front end swap (with or without revalving and springs to suit). Search out info on the gixxer 1000 shock for springrate info. The springrate changed from ~430 lbs. for '01-02 to ~480 lbs. for '03-04. Doing searches will net you everything you need to know. A lot depends on your weight and riding preferences. At the very least I'd consider looking up the suspension set up recommendations and changing a bit after 1000-2000 miles (to let the suspension bed in) since the stock set up is a bit odd for most of us forum members.

There are a ton of undertails out there ,but if you want cheap go to your local hardwear and get a 2x2 piece of l bracket unbolt the standard snow shovel remove the originial plate holder attach it to the l bracket use 2 small open L brackets behind the plate holder to secure the stock turn signials use 2 or 3 small bolts and nuts to secure the large bracket to the undertail . And for about 2.50 usd ,you have moved the turn signials in ,freed yourself of the snow shovel and enhanced the overall appearance of the bike . Takes about 20 min.Good Luck

Nope, my R&G ones didn't, lost the indicator and the brake lever as per my other post earlier.

10" Overstock Swingarm with solid rear suspension
NOS kit
MRE Airshirter
Supercharger

Well that's 4 grand spent then :surprise:

I'd go with cosmetics first + end cans are mandatory to remain on forum ;)

Cheers Pete
