GAY!!!! No, no they're HELLA-GAY!!!

Let's analyize this part for a second. Take a 100 plus hp machine that's capable of ludicris speeds and remove 1/3 of it's brakes and put this on becaseu it "looks cool". Great idea. Have at it. :killingme

There's many guys in this area who do this type of thing. They just take one off and ride. Much bling factor to go with all the chrome/polishing, stretched swingarms, lowering, etc.

I usually see them posing at the gas stations rather than riding though. :killingme

From the sounds of it...WHY is so you look cool while not stopping in time B-4 you hit something. All in the name of style over functionality

:shifty:

Hey, Chewy, I vote for your theory. At least then they serve some rational, functional existance in this universe (twisted though that may be).

Having had a close look at these brake discs, I can imagine they would be very useful if you were in the mobile saw mill business. :bash:

Geez guys. You don't hold anything back with your opinions :pokey: I just saw it and thought, at first, that they were actually brake discs for both sides of the wheel, shaped like that and thought that would be cool. After calling, found out that they're just for show, that sucks.

hey sportbike guy, i thought they looked cool also, and for the record, i ride with chrome wheels and a polished frame, does not make me less of a rider because i choose to make my bike what i consider asthetically pleasing. Bikes come in all shapes and makes, if someone chooses to "trick" their bike out don't condemn them. Try to find out more about them, for some people it is art to trick out their rides.

I dont think the comments were meant in a bad way. just that most people (including me) really wouldnt want to lose a brake disc just to look cool.

SV brakes arnt all that anyway, halve them and i would just shit my pants!

My apologies given that you didn't know. Truth be told that's the first I've seen of them, too, so I had to read through the responses to fully understand what they were. Yep, I, we were a bit harsh but then I, at least, try to follow a strict mantra: form over function. Now I'd be lying if I didn't admit I had a seat cowl on my SV and you can argue even an aftermarket exhaust (which I also had on mine) isn't exactly super-functional based on the high cost:performance quotient. But I think it's OK to have aesthetic preferences and the ability to exercise them -- as long as it doesn't compromise functionality.
