Borrowed my friends camera, threw it in my tank bag, turned it on, and started riding. Later on, in my insomnia, I put it to some music, and put it out on the web.

OK, here's the contest: How many traffic violations can you spot? I've got 5: crossing a double yellow line, speeding, passing on the right, not using a signal when changing lanes, and failure to obey a traffic sign. I find that type of behavior juvenile, agressive, and generally anti-social, I like that in a person! B)

Brings a new twist to the camera theme - now where can I borrow a digital video camera from. Bring on those violations :P (just kidding skidz!)

If you have a numeric video in your home and you don't use it, you can offer me.... :ryan:

Excellent, hope to have some done myself soon. Almost have the kit made for the bullet camera.

Nico.

The mount post works like a normal push bike head stem clamp.

The rest of the kit, digital cam corder, power supply for bullet cam and the bullet cam itself bottom centre. 22mm dia and 75mm long. Not very big and the mount post has a swivel head and adjusable height. The camcorder can be carried in a back pack or strapped to the pillion seat, what ever is easiest. Only hope I can do something as good as rebel has produced.

Nico.

Hey NICO,

Where'd ya source that digital vid camera attachment kit? Is that something you have fabbed or purchase? Planning some rides soon and would like to shoot some video.

Believe it or not, here in the states, (specifically in Connecticut), the speed limits on roads like this are ridiulously low. The speed limit where I took that was 35mph. Those turns with the big signs were rated at 15mph. And I can tell you in all honesty, I obeyed the speed limit, and took those nice turns, at the speed limit.

I could have gotten the speedometer, but I dont think the speed is what matters. And the tac was in the sweet spot. The power curve is real nice right about there. 3rd gear too! ;)

That was my first ever video done on a motorcycle. I dont have any fancy camera mounts or anything like that. I just took my magnetic tankbag, turned it around so the it opened the other way, put the camera in there, and padded it with some t-shirts, and stuck the lens out. Brought the zippers up and around, and presto! Easy cheap camera solution!

Damn!! Think I'll try that technique! I have an old analog cam corder so converting to digital is kind of a pain (and I don't have the software). At least I can watch it myself on rainy days.

Where in CT was this filmed? I've been around the Westbrook/ Old Saybrook area quite a bit as well as Hartford and New Haven. Your not kidding about the 35mph speeds around there. The one thing that kept me in check while there was the CT statetroopers are always on COPS and Tales of the Highway Patrol.

BTW, I'm jonesing bad. Video clips like this are the only thing keeping me going until I get mine back together. :niceone:

NoNoRicky I got the little camera from a Shop in Adelaide South Australia called the eye spy shop. I just got the camera and made up the pwer supply as it needs a smooth 12 volts straight battery volts would kill it I'm told.
I had done the Camera on the tank and it was taped down with duct tape, a problem when you want fuel. So thats why I got the little camera.
Cost $245 Aussie dollars. should be plenty of places in the states that will sell this sort of gear. Do search for "spy camera" and see what comes up. Or helmet camera might do it.

For all of us stuck in a winter hell, we need this video to remind us of nicer days that are coming. :niceone:

I'm gonna try that on my trip in a few weeks too. I have a Sony Handycam that's not digital and it does NOT have an input jack. I guess I'll just bungee it onto my tank bag and hope for the best. I wanted to build a setup like Nico has and attach the lipstick lens to my helmet but the type of cameras that have an input jack are a little out of my price range right now.

Unless there's some better ideas out there.
