I bought my K3 N a couple months ago after my other bike was stolen, the last twin i had was an old 88 honda GT650 and the new SV1k reminded me of it so i picked it up, haven't gotten off since. Still in college, and at 25 i still haven't owned a car but always had a ton of bikes and by far this one is one of my favorites

As well you should, thats a nice bike, it does lack a..... something though!? But its a fab bike! Maybe it needs the Kenny gentle personal touch? or would that not be respectful to Big Jim, in changing any of it....?

Already starting to see what i can do to make it more personal and different as to what it is, especially the front forks etc.

No rush me thinks, and some nice touches will spring to mind. You jus looked at the SV and said, yep! That's Ken... Sure in no time the GSX will take the honours!

New here, my name is Jeff as my Username would indicate. I have lurked here before looking for useful information, but must admit, I have a 650, not a 1000. This site has already been very helpful in the past.

I am preparing to embark on the GSX-R front suspension swap, which is a little more involved for us "displacementally-challenged" riders.

Hey Jeff, sweet ride! Like the picture format, yes i think a Gixxer swap would really make the bike! Will look sweet..

That's ok, it's an SV at the end of the day, i met many 650 riders at the US SV rally in 2009, and they were a great bunch!

Still think a SV Naked would be better for Ken... Nowt wrong with the GSX 'cept it's a inline 4..... not as nimble plus lacking in character... then again I am a bit biased...

No but an I4 is a lot smoother over long runs.. And i think when Ken puts his stamp on it, it will come up to the grade..

Well I figured if I'm gonna sign up to this forum I might as well introduce myself, unfortunately I don't have a lot of spare time right now to dedicate to posting but maybe sometime in the future I'll become more than an info lurking DIY newb. Either way, here's my bike.

2003 SV1000S Originally silver but repainted by previous owner. I have yet to put the lower fairings on (hopefully will be soon).

Mod's:

Frame sliders
Clear Alternatives rear taillights (smoked)
Flush mount front blinkers (smoked)
Yoshi RS-1 exhaust
Weisco 12.5:1 pistons

Well anyhow trippin green... I have seen its either here or fleebay that seem to be the places to watch for bits!! Use the search bar as well if you need to check fitment of other types!
