Works for me...
The new Multistrada really does it for me.
New 1198 water cooled motor, good "long" suspension for a little adventure touring... It's not nearly as homely as the previous Multistrada or DL650/1000 Vstrom. For any adventure touring bike, or utilitarian vehicle, you have to see past the bodywork and more into the functionality.

I really like it too, except for the looks and price. But it took me a long time to warm to the previous models looks, so maybe by the time I can afford one....? It would be cool if Suzuki would make a similar 1200cc cross between the Vstrom and SV that weighed 400lbs and cost $10K!

Yep it looks like an air intake. Compared to the 1100S though it is a vast improvement.....I do see a Ducati in my future though, torque, sex appeal & fun all rolled into one...........
http://www.ducati.com/od/ducatinorth...4?newsId=31061' 368 lbs dry, has a wet clutch with slipper, 81 hp & 56 ft-lbs of torque all for $9,995 MSRP

Got to ride a brand new Multistrada S last night for about an hour. My buddy is the head mechanic at a Ducati dealer and he had it out for the evening. It was the shop's demo bike. Another friend (on a 1098S) and I met up with him at a bike night and he threw me the keys like "take it for a spin". I KNEW that I should not have done it but I couldn't resist.
Christ almighty, this is seriously the greatest bike that has ever been invented!! As mentioned, this one was an S so it had all the bells and whistles, including the fully electronic adjustable suspension. The thing rides like an absolute dream in every sense of the word. It's comfortable, very easy to get used to, and pulls like a freight train. Draws looks where ever it goes. The power is wild, just what you'd expect from an 1198 motor. Two of my other friends that were there are on 1098S's and this Multi stayed right with them in the pure power dept. It just pulls and pulls, arm ripping power! I found I had to be VERY careful with the throttle as wheelies in first were nearly unavoidable. Imagine the SV with about 50 more hp and that's what it's like. Handling is incredible as well, it's very nimble and feels as light as it is and/or should. The adjustable suspension is tits and works very well. I cycled through some of the settings last night and they really do work. I wish more than anything that I had $20,000 to blow on a bike because this would be it. It's keyless too. You just put the key fob in your pocket and sit on the bike and it turns on. A quick wick of the starter and it fires up. It's quiet, but still sounds like a Ducati. The only minor complaint that I have was that the seat could have used some work. It's adequate but definitely needs a reshape and/or recover, at least for me anyway. Other than that, it's all good no matter how you slice it. Truly an impressive machine in every sense of the word. Time to start saving my pennies...

I sat on a black $20k one and fired it up a month or so ago during a demo day. The bike would surely get me pulled over by the cops. Hard to pay speeding tickets and reckless driving citations with a $22k bill to pay for x number of years.
![]() I agree on the seat, it's a plank of wood! Not the soft stuff either. Took a demo ride on a new Triumph Tiger a week or so ago. Nice bike, but still $13.3k. ![]() The payments hurt too much to enjoy the bike. I need more money.

I bet they'll come out with a smaller version of this bike that us serfs might own.

I'd have one if I had the spare wonga laying around. The quirky looks have grown on me.
