I will say you do get a sense of achievement hustling the big ol sv through the bends or out running the sportsbikes on a trackday.....

I would of said insurance premiums too! Since the SV is regarded as a Sports Tourer, i.e cheaper!

But was not so the case this time around....

After riding S1000RR....

Im still glad I have my SV, id opt for a LSL riser kit if I were you unless the clipons dont bother you, its so much more comfy and I think better in the twistys.

I love how gixxer riders like to delineate between "sport bikes" (i.e. GSXRs, R6/R1s, CBRs, Ninjas, various exotics) and "non-sport bikes" (everything else).

I've seen guys on Ninja 250s ride circles around liter "sport bike" riders at the track.

Most riders don't even come close to the potential performance of their motorcycles, whether it's an SV or a Gixxer.

99% of riding is the rider, not the bike.

The SVS is undeniably a sports bike. It's just not a race-replica!

I always considered the SV as a standard bike, similar to the VX800 that I owned some years back. Wasn't the bike marketed as the "V-twin fun machine"?
