You will have one day to travel up Friday and two days of good fun Saturday Sunday . HOTEL http://www.fairway-hotel.co.uk/index.htm plus driving range or golf on a pitch and put 9 hole par 27 (clubs provided) £4 plus 50p a club, great fun for the Saturday night, You will get on Friday night a meal (Cantonese Calvary) at The Jade Fountain Cantonese Restaurant Barrow [ALSO WITH VEGETARIAN DISHES]This is the tops for £13.90 each you get as much as you can EAT with usually over 20 dishes to pick from.


PAYMENTS FOR FRIDAYS MEAL CAN @ 13.90 EACH & PAYMENT FOR COACH TO MEALS VENUE @ £3.50 EACH

The Cantonese buffet will start at 7:45pm on Friday 7th July the coach will pick us up at 7:30 from the Fairways Hotel and pick us back up outside the restaurant at about 9:30 to take us back in time for drinks at the hotels bar. I have taken an average cost split 40 ways to each cover the cost of the coach hire should more be using it then I will return the overdue amount.

THE HOTEL

A wonderful young couple runs the hotel. It has beautiful furnishings and has a very large restaurant, which caters also for vegetarians. The rooms are all as good as the website describes and all come with great views especially the ones facing west as they over look the duddon estuary. It has a 9-hole pitch and putt next to it, its great fun even if you don't like golf. It has a bar upstairs and downstairs with pool table and two lounge areas with TV. And the bonus is it’s far away enough from the crowds so the bikes will be safe.
They can provide transport if you wish to the town Barrow (4 MILES) for the meal on Friday or I can arrange a Taxi or mini bus. Then we will have the one at the hotel on Saturday. The prices of the meals are very reasonable average meal cost is about £7.50 starters about £3.50. From the hotel you can take a short walk to the beach. SEE BELOW. I will now need full payments from you before the end of May for the two and three nighs, so if we get a good turnout this year and each share a room it should be a great weekend.

Ok the cost to date per room is, single room occupancy £50 a night if you share its £75 per night per room £37.50 each. This includes breakfast in the morning so that’s worth a few £
I have pre booked all the twin rooms that are available (6 in total) and 4 double rooms 4 of which I have held for three days for the ones who wish to travel home on the following Monday morning. I have now paid the deposit. If we need any more rooms I will sort that out at a later date. To get to the location of the hotel take Junction 36 off the M6 then the A590 to Barrow in Furness there is a map in the website, you will be only 6 miles outside the Lake District national boundary and 3 from my house should you need me. This will be lake and dales ride out weekend I will take you where the tourists don’t usually bother or know about. But if you want your own agenda that’s fine I will sort out maps of the areas of interest for you especially on a bike.



I have now booked us a 51 / 53 seat coach http://www.clarksoncoachways.co.uk/contact.html to take us down to the Cantonese restaurant on the Friday night this will cost £140 for the return trip. At the moment we will have about 40 using it and hopefully more so when other members come forward. At the moment this will be about £3.50 each see above list.

The routes for Saturday.

Duddon valley Duddon estuary, pass my house A595 then into Ulpha and Berker fell then I will lead you over Hardknott and Wrynose pass http://www.cumbria-calling.com/drives/drive3-passes.htm with a stop just before for the first cup of tea at the little ratty. You will need it before you undertake the next few miles. From there I will plan a route around some of the lesser-known lakes roads. Finally making a stop at the famous Devils bridge bike meet http://www.first4gear.com/bikemeets/devilsbridge.html. I have planed this for the Saturday, as we may not get a parking space on the Sunday for all of us.

The SATURDAY ride will involve the highest café in England at Hearthside the famous A686, http://www.visitcumbria.com/pen/hartside.htm the boys who did the UK northern meet will tell you all about this road Andyw will tell you more . After that I will take you over to the Penny garth cafe at HAWES http://www.pennygarthcafe.co.uk/. Then it’s a fast down the dales road (this will blow you away) from Hawes then back passed Devils Bridge (stop if you wish here) then to the hotel and home.

Dont worry about the course it's an open one not a closed club and its only about £4. Dont even have to bring clubs. The walk down to the beach is only 15min 1 mile max. Just done it this afternoon for you.

What I have done is block book 10 rooms for now under my name on my credit card. Then I will need each of you to pay me back the deposit by cheque as you come forward. I will PM you all at later date. Then after this I will need you to confirm a room with the hotel using a reference number and my name that I will give to you as soon as I sort out the fine details with the hotel.10 rooms will give us 20 members accommodation. If we need to up it at a later date I will sort it out.
I hope this is making sense. If we start to pay a little now and get this in place and moving then I think we will have a great weekend to look forward to.
I also think I can get a couple of group leaders myself my mate on his TLR, and I will try to get my local Suzuki bike shop involved. They should let Keith from the shop use a demo SV to lead another group. That will give us the three that I think we will need.
I will closer to the date send you all maps and details so no need to download anything it will all come to your door. Giving it a more personal touch.
On the Saturday’s meal at the hotel, the menu they provide you will pick your meal on the night or the friday before , I will also send a copy of this to you in the post with the map pack details.
Also if a few get here early on the friday I will arange a local ride out.
