Very Picky Rider
Just got my new 2003 SV1000S (Copper) a few days ago. Your site is a great place to get and share info. I already learned what my next mods are going to be (although, I didn't see any words on the Helibars, what gives?).
So, my bike, Jason (bought it on Friday the 13th... ;-) will be used mostly for commuting and for some weekend fun. Did you guys register at Micapeak? The motorcycle registry? Also, Is there a thread somewhere about WHERE to get parts (Hugger, Undertray, TRE, etc.) and HOW MUCH? Thanks, "Still looking for a little bigger/stronger/faster GT Hawk..." (the SV is pretty damn close!) --Avisan |

Hi guys and welcome to the site.....
I won't post loads of links here on huggers etc.....you can do a Search (from menu at the top of the screen) and find loads of info from the FAQ section....if you can't find what you're looking for then feel free to ask and someone like Bish (site 'librarian'!) will come to the rescue. Also check out: Links to Site Help. image posting, member ratings, etc. Have fun, welcome aboard

Hi
Hi All
Been lurking around here since the end of last year. About the time I got my brand new SV. A great site with loads of good info for what has to be the greatest bike on the planet (in silver of course ). Been back on the road now for about 5 years, first with a 750 pre-sling and then a 750 SRAD. I definately find the SV to be a more rider friendly bike and just love the styling and the sound (not the standard muted wimper but the full throated cry of a set of Leo Vinci's :ryan: ). You can check out a few pics at http://mysite.mweb.co.za/residents/g.stones/index.html Thanks for a great site guys and keep the rubber side down. Graeme. |

Hello Everyone,
Well I bought my SV1000s (pre reg) back in sept 03 (found this site today 20/2/04) and I've ridden it through the winter months come hail or shine and I love it. Cant wait for the summer months and some big rides out. I going to the south of France at the end of march for 10 days to catch some early sun. My previous bike was a Suzuki GSX600F and I've got to admit the the SV is lightyears better than my old bike. My only complaint is the odd stall when setting off from the lights but that probably because I'm sometimes lazy with the throttle When it came to purchasing I looked at all makes and models and I think the SV has loads of character and isn't race rep clone like some of the other litre class bikes. Plus great performance at a reasonable price Well I'm trawling may way through the posts on this site, some really good info on mods and other stuff. Safe riding everyone Leigh

hi just found the site a few days ago , I was beggining to think I was the only bloke who bought the sv1000s. You still dont see to many on the road do you.mind you I bet Iam the only mug who payed full price for it last march. still ive spent a lot more since then all the usual things, undertray, hugger ,skidmarx screen, crash bobbins(not much use at high speed though!!)& also carbon can co exhaust.plus the best mod so far..... pirelli diablo corsas. which leads nicely to track days!! I did four last year mallory ... not the best place for an sv snetterton was ok just touched 150mph (on the clock at least) on the back straight. then the best of the lot Cadwell park twice!! first time on the pilot sports second time on the corsas talk about grip!!! they were awesome , but you can guess what happens when confidence soars and the adrenalin flows, you think no lean angle is to great and no corner speeds to high!!! until bang like a complete wanker the front goes not only that it was last lap last sessoin!!. on the positive side its not far to fall and my nice new shoei lid was ok! lets just say the repair bill was a fair bit . ( cant say to much encase the duchess reads it and takes even more revenge with credit cards on saturday ) any way mods this year will include rear ohlins , something up front racetech internals? any suggestions, braided hoses and so on and so on oh!! and a bike trailer!!. yes i will see you at the meet in crencester whats the name of the site ? if i tow bike i will bring my big tent sleeps 5 plus all the cooking goodys chairs etc. i usually take the mighty fudge for camping(fj1200)but thats no ggood at an sv meet !! and yes iwill be doing more track days this year any one want to come? or meet up for a spin? ps yesterday i took the sv out for a spin ... after 10 miles i was freezing my gonads off! today i had a courier job to ipswich and back 140mile round trip on the fudge warm as toast , cant beat lots of layers ,heated grips ,and a tall screen. well thats all for now ,before i turn into rambling sid rumpole! But before i go heres my mid winter riding tip when its really cold the old hooter will eventually run dont faff around trying to open your lid and smearing all the nutrients over your face !! let it run down in a neat line to your lip and then curl the tongue to help it home providing you with all the sustenance you will need to make it home. cheers steve |

Hello all,
Just got my new bike last Friday: Brand new 2003 Copper SV1000S (still with the hairs on the tires). Seeing how we have 300 inches of snow on the ground, I won't be able to ride for a while but she is all spit-shined and ready. I'll just have to drive the Vehicross till spring comes. I have visited this site since I was interested in the SV1000S and it helped make up my mind. I was looking at the Kawasaki Z1000 and the Honda VFR800i, but ended up with the Suk. The only thing I wish this site had was downloads of movies or videos of the bikes; they are far and few between on the net. Later -matt |
