Arrow New Member, First Time SV Owner - '06 SV1K w/ only 69 miles!

Hello Everyone!

I just scored an all-original, one-owner 2006 SV1K with only 69 original miles on it!

Very excited to finally join the SV club after many years of lusting after an SV1000S and finally finding "the one"!

This thing is a complete time capsule and my favorite color scheme of the gen 2 bikes. I've owned sporty V-twins from Buell, Aprilia and Honda, but never a Suzuki, so this should be interesting

I love how the SV's looks have aged so well and this motor is to die for!

I already have a list of questions I'm going to spam the regular forum with, LOL!

I'm very excited to be a part of the forum and I look forward to contributing and visiting often!

Thank you, guys!

It was a Facebook Marketplace find. Seller was in California, I'm in Arizona and it just happened to pop up when I did a search for SV's.

Came across it at 11:50am two Saturdays ago and I was on a plane 2 hours later, checking out the bike in L.A. by 3:30!

Story goes: Owner bought it new, but was in military at the time, deployed and didn't really get a chance to ride it. A few years later, he gets out of the military and became a commercial truck driver right away. Not wanting to risk his CDL, he stays off the bike. Eventually, he retires, but, at this point, he no longer wishes to ride. The bike just sat, covered for the most part. He said he would occasionally go out and start it, which I believe based on how well it runs for only having 69 miles on the clock after so many years!

I was super skeptical about the whole thing, but it totally checked out! I have paperwork showing him as the owner all the way back to 2006.

On the downside, the tires were original and still had the little fuzzies on them, but were cracked from age and sitting. I had to rush to find a dealer that could toss on a new set before I drove home that night. But, I made it and the bike ran great!
