Sargent Seat for sale

Have Sargent seat from my 2003 SV1000N for sale, part number WS-547-19. It fits 03 SV1000 naked (not the S model) and all 04 & up models. I am asking $80 including shipping anywhere in the continental US. Have attached photos for your review. Can send larger files if more viewing resolution is needful.

Also, have new, in-the-factory-box, ALL Balls brand steering head bearings for sale, part number 22-1003 for $15 plus shipping.

Many have viewed but so far, no takers? I will ship outside the US if that will get someone interested. The seat is in excellent condition and way more comfortable than the stock item. What say you?

Hi! I would have been interested, except that I have already bought one! For twice the price and in not as good of shape!
It's both lower and more comfortable than the stock seat.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry we could not have timed it better. I sold my SV but wanted to get the Sargent seat a new home. You are correct, it is lower (about 1 inch) than stock and is much more comfy. Doesn't resist moving around on the seat yet isn't slippery either. A very good product.

Sorry, but I don't truly know as I have never shipped anything internationally. Tried to look it up online. I couldn't easily find estimate info. Would have to take the box with the seat packed inside to the USPS, UPS or Fedex offices to get a real cost. Am guessing it will not be inexpensive. If you really want the seat, I can go next week to get the cost quotes then reply on that.

Hi Rick,

Sounds like it is going to be almost as much as the seat, maybe we should just knock this one on the head right now. I'll keep looking for one over here.

Good luck with the sale, it looks in great condition and at $80 a real steal.

Hi Paul:
Thanks for the response. The only online estimate I could get was at Fedex. A 2 pound, medium size box, was over $100. That seemed ludicrous to me and I wasn't sure I filled out their estimate sheet right. Couldn't even find estimator like that on UPS or USP sites.

Really do appreciate your comments regarding the seat. Thought it would be easier to get it a good home. The SV is truly a great motorcycle but the stock seat is not comfy past 50 miles.

Hi Rick,

I had a feeling the prices would be way over the top but such is life.

As for selling the seat, haven't you got something similar to a Gumtree website in your country?

People shy away from something if it is too cheap, I sell a lot of used motorcycle accessories on Gumtree here in Oz, I take good photos, give it a good positive write up and I put on a reasonably high price and the I come down when they start to bargain, I come down to the price I originally wanted and the buyer feels that they have scored a great deal by them negotiating it down, everyone goes away happy, itís a win win.

That is a very nice seat in GREAT CONDITION.

Paul:
Don't know if there is an analog here to your Gumtree. We have Craigslist but I didn't want to deal with all the kooks that are reputed to hang out there. I priced the seat at less than half of retail thinking it would be "priced to move fast".

Am surprised that there isn't more interest, my photos show it is in good shape. Sorry the international freight costs are so high, would love to find the seat a new home with an SV rider.

I bet you could sell it on eBay pretty quickly Rick. Unfortunately, this forum just doesn't have the traffic it used to.

But fortunately for you, the lowest price Sargent seat on eBay right now is $130.00 and it is in rough shape.

Appreciate the input. I have never sold on Ebay so I would need to find out how and what's to do so. Probably would also need to get a Paypal account so the transaction would be confident for buyer and seller. Something to look into even though I don't intend on being a regular seller on Ebay.

LOL....uh oh, you may become an eBay addict like me.

If you don't want to do that, maybe try to post it for sale on SV Rider? I haven't been on that site in a long, long time so I'm not as familiar with the requirements in order to post something for sale. There may be a minimum post requirement and/or becoming a member.

Thinking about it.

Just picked up a 2003 SV1000n. It came with a Corbin but I have been reading a bit and I am 6'3" and 200Lbs the Sargent seems to be a bit taller and softer. I live in Long Beach California 90814. send me the shipping cost and I will give it a serious think.
Thanks,
Roger
