Starter motor won't turn the engine.

Hi, all.
I was riding with friends a while ago and after a pit stop, my bike wouldn't start. I bump started it and rode home.

The starter motor spins but doesn't turn the motor. I opened the left cover today. (You DO have to tqake of the clutch slave cylinder!)
Everything looks OK:
The one-way clutch spins freely clockwise.
The gears don't have any missing teeth.
Everything seems to be meshing, all washers, spacers, etc are good.
The starter motor spins both ways by hand.
What could be the problem? Maybe the torque limiter is bad? Or the one-way clutch doesn't lock up CCW?

I tried to run the starter by itsel, to verify that it was turning the correct direction.but with the cover off, it wouldn't run.

Since I had the cover off, I checked the magnets. Crap! One of the magnets has slipped! I guess that I should purchase some JB Weld!

Also, I cleaned off the grunge on the clutch push rod and noticed that the rod has a direct access to the drive sprocket and chain. Why wouldn't a moving part like that be protected from the oil & dirt flung from the chain?
