A seat for 2003 copper coloured bike owners

This is an interesting seat, really only suitable for the owners of the 2003 copper couloured bikes, even if it costs you $60 to get it delivered you still get yourself what appears to be a very comfortable seat.

To clarify... this seat apparently came off an SV650 which the guy is stripping down to turn it into a track bike and the 650 seat also fits the 1000 models, the 2003 SV1000s is the only bike that has a specifically shaped seat made for that model, donít ask me why.

With the specific 2003 SV1000s seat, the legs in the front which bolt to the frame are curved outwards whereas the seat for all the other years/models have straight legs on the front. I have 2005 SV1000 and the seat currently on my bike is from a 650 model and it fits perfectly.

I did sell one of those 2003 seats a few years back and just dug up a photo of the underside of it if anyone would like to see it but downloading photos on this site is a bit of a strain so Iím not going down that road. I will drag and drop one if requested.

The 2003 S model has a different subframe...... If you look from the side of the bike, the bottom rail of the subby is dead straight from the chassis to where is enclosed by the rear plastics....

On the naked 03 and all later models, the bottom rail bends up just at the rear bolt of the pillion peg mount......meaning the first portion of the rail is slightly flatter and therefore leaving the seat and the pillion pegs, and mufflers a little lower, and requiring the seat to be a different shape....You sit more "on" the 03 S, and "in" the other models....

2003 SV1000S, 2003 SV650, and 2003 SV650S all take the same seat.
