Yeah, it would be better.....having the PC5 on there is like having two brains doing the one job....sort of....

Direct write to ECU is the best in my opinion.
You have to find the right people to do it though.

I am guessing by asking about "remapping" that he means flashing the ECU maybe?

paekeajiab - Alterations to the ECU will be very limited in what they can achieve, using a PC is always going to give you more options and is always accessible via your own computer to make changes along the way.
I haven't bothered to look, but, there are probably other engine tuning devices available as an alternate to the Power Commander...

Has anyone got thoughts on that idea ?

Way better than that. You set the timing to what ever you want at the different RPMs and throttle positions.

The ignition timing capability is nice on the PCV units.

Direct write ECU mapping is a really good option. Even if it is just fuel mapping (no ignition). Even simple mapping with a TEKA box is very effective, especially on stock internals engines.
