Today marks the last time electrical power has passed through her veins...😥
It's like turning of the life support after 19 years and 7 months and 353776 kms.
One last pic of her face.

Goodbye old girl.
Now, its organ donation time.

ECU and wiring loom have passed their use by date, and to make the bike live longer i would need to put $1500 in it, and to be honest, its time.
Engine, although not quiet at this time in life, is still going strong, so i cannot doubt that side of it.

How many engine rebuilds to get to that odometer did it take you? Love to see that high mileage on the SV

None. Only did the WERKS clutch mod, and the rotor magnets, and cam chains. Ran Motul 5100 from 1st service.
Never even had a water pump or starter motor failure.

I’m sorry for your loss

You and bike have done approx ten times km in same time which I find hard to get my head around
Interested in your choice for replacement

Buy a Gen 2 1290 Super Duke R!! I picked one up in November and it's an incredible replacement.
Every credit to you (and Suzuki) for getting the bike so far, makes you chuckle at people whe think a bike is ready for the scrap yard as soon as the mileage reaches double digits.

I only just realized this was you i was talking to, thank you for the exhaust, my uncle decided to use it as an excuse to visit his daughter in Canberra so was able to deliver it over the weekend. If you find yourself interested in a red 05 sv1ks i might be able to help ;)

Well, it seems mine is at ⅓ of your life span. I just feel sad your letting her go while she is just passed the run in phase... Good news for me though... Mine still has 250k left before any problems will occur 🤯

Even that's quite an accomplishment, mine is currenlty <30k miles (and probably won't turn a wheel this year) so I don't think it's even reached puberty yet, probably still an infant.

Yep, mine's just over 30k mark now, it LOOKS like it's travelled 200,000 because of the previous owner's lack of care, just getting around to rectifying a few design flaws and bypassing electrical bits and pieces.

M.L., it's great that you've given the opportunity to disperse the bikes vital organs for others to use, I'm bummed I missed out on the exhaust system, but these things happen. Trying to organise a time to catch up with you soon but wife has covid now, given me the pox so just waiting until I can get out of bed...
