Interesting.

I'm new here, but not new to bikes nor SV's. I bought Luis' 650 kit last winter (early 2011), and I love it. It was one of the mods that made me fall in love with my old '03 SV6 (how come its not called the "S Wee"?). I put on a GSXR front end and a zx10 shock, and I LOVE how the bike handles. Coulda bought an Ohlins and some fancy shmancy forks, but don't need them. I put more miles on that bike this past summer than I have all of my prior bikes over the past five years. I'm not a high mileage guy, but I made a POINT of riding this bike when I could.
Luis' kit was part of that. It was reasonably priced, it worked like he said it would, and the fatter rubber suits my tastes both cosmetically AND technically. He delivered what he said he would, when he said he would, for the price he quoted, and it works awesomely.
I love the bike so much that I watched for an SV1k this past fall, found one, and am performing the same mods. I've asked Luis about this kit for my 1k, though the difference will be less noticeable than on the 650. I've got some more research to do before I decide if I want this.

Luis posts that he has a product available for those who might want it. It is tried, tested, and true. It is what he says it is.
And... he gets taken to task for it. He's much more patient and kind than I would be.
You don't want the item/ service/ mod? Fine. Leave it alone. You've got questions about it? Ask 'em. I think Luis would be happy to answer them (based on my experience with him, and his restraint on this board).

If you don't want it, then leave it alone. Go find another thread.

It isn't for everyone, but its available for those who want it. Is it a necessary mod? Nope. Is it available if you want it? Yep. Right here. From Luis. At a fair price.

Thanks Jeff,

I am glad you were happy with the SV650 Rear Wheel Conversion Kit with the GSXR 600/750 rear wheel...

A lot of people are very pleased with it... Now, Gregg Spears from Spears Enterprises is selling my SV650 Rear Wheel Conversion Kits to races all over the world... Several top level racers are running this kits in the US, Canada and Australia...

I have sold a few SV1000 rear wheel conversion kits and the response has been positive as well... I hope people start posting pictures soon... :D

Best Regards and happy Holidays, Luis

I just think I should make something clear. Apparently sv650r has got himself into a lil debacle over at svrider.com I just feel that people should be aware of this if your considering buying this kit.

I can't wait to see his reply to this post. That's some serious shit going on!

I had been a member SVRIDER for several years... I maintained a Platinum Membership to support SVRIDER... And I offered EBAY discounts to SVRIDER members to promote SVRIDER.COM... Tracking Number

I think I was courteous, even tempered, very enthusiastic, somewhat knowledgeable, and I try to be as helpful as I could be...

They known that I sell the GSXR Rear wheel conversion kits... And I have sold these kits to many, many SV Rider Members...

Most of my transactions have been pleasant... Out of the people that took the time to leave feed back I has 106 Positive feedback, and 2 Negative feedback before I was Banned from SVRIDER...

The one problem I have is that often times I can not speed up the transaction process... It is been difficult to find a machine shop that is willing to work with me on very small orders at a time... The guy I am working with is not as reliable as I would like... But I see it as he is doing me and other SV havers a favor.

I do know that there was some issues with a couple members who had purchased parts from me... Particularly, McD and Grantsv... These are the ONLY 2 negative Feedback I have received...

I had unexpected delays with the machine work done... Some parts were machine outside specifications and were required to be re-done... This delay shipping on some guys that had already been waiting for their parts...

I maintain communication with all buyers, until I had to leave to my home country Guatemala, to attend personal family matters...

Upon my return, I found out I had been banned without a specified reason...

I also like to let it be known that upon my return, I picked up parts from the machinist shop and ship them out to every buyer:

I Delivered!!! I never had an intention to take advantage of anyone or steal any one's parts or money...

I still would like to know what I do to be banned from SVRIDER... Or if it was because I had to attend family matters and I was absent for about 2-1/2 weeks?

I have contact all nine SVRIDER moderators, I have contact SVRIDER Administrator... So far no response from them...

Oh yeah, I do no not claim to be anything other than a Motorcycle Hobbyist...

I am NOT a BUSINESS, I make parts for my own bikes, local friends bikes... They work!!!

Riders like my upgrades and conversion kits, and have show a lot of interest, so I help them get the same parts my bikes, and my friends bikes have...

If you guys have questions, feel free to ask...

If you guys have comments, it's a free forum...

Thank you, :D Luis
Well for the record I don't have an opinion one way or the other. I was just cruising around found that info and felt that it was necessary to convey what I found.
Luis, still waiting for that proper spacer ( -1mm) on the 6" wheel conversion.

Thanks

No worries man, I have nothing to hide...

Actually I welcome the opportunity, because on SV Rider I was Banned without the opportunity to say anything...

Some people think I disappeared and I took peoples money... Leaving everyone hanging dry... That is not the case!!!

The only reason I did not came back to SVRIDER, is because I was Banned...

I have got a new SVRIDER account... But, I am not posting anything in the forums... In fact, I am only contacting the SVRIDER moderators...

So, Thank you for this opportunity... :D Luis

Feel free to email me, or call me...

Thanks for the heads up !

I guess SV650R is the one that must know the answer.

What would it take to fit a 06+ GSX-R 650/750 rear wheel into a SV1000? It's 5.5 wide, so you can still run the cheaper 180 rubber, but the vacuum cast wheel should be ligher. May not be as light as a forged wheel, but should be an improvement.

Hey A, got your peso thanks :D. When I sent the invoice it did tell me that it was sent to you and also when I canceled it....strange.

Any how I tried 06 + gsxr 600/750 wheel but the whole assembly is too narow by about 15mm. It could be done but a lot of messin around with spacing on the brake side which makes it complicated. 05 gixer 1k wheel is also lighter than the stock SV wheel ivan if its a bit wider.

I got the gixer 1k wheel kit from Luis and got here ok but with a wrong inner spacer and rest all worked as good as promissed...Shit hapens and I'm sure I will get the right one as son as he gets one done.

Yeah, the 06 + GSXR600 and GSXR750 is a bit narrow at the hub...

You would have to space out the caliper bracket from the swing arm... It is possible, but it will take making a custom spacer of the shape of the swing arm for the caliper bracket, so it still functions properly... $$$.$$
