Hey Gents,
I was wondering if everyone had their personal best top speed on an SV and what it might be. Not wanting to step on any toes and discuss illegal activities on here, but I was just curious. Mine is 153 mph or 246.3 kph here in the States. Any thoughts? :ryan:

161 mph or 260 kph on the clock on the SV when it started to read silly numbers all over the place.
My Bandit took me to 270 kph indicated.

146mph not exactly top speed but it's the fastest I've been on the bike as of yet. Unfortunately my jacket wasn't zipped all the way and it started to act like a parachute around 135...had no choice but to back off or be sucked off the bike.

On my '99 650, 122mph. 152 on a Superhawk a couple years ago, past a guy on a pretty flat straight road. Between the two of us, I think we passed each other at around 300mph. Came over a small hill, and didn't even have time to give a wave or nod. He was there and gone.

165 mph indicated several times on my old '91 Gixer....now that bitch would roll! Sat up once at 165 and the wind about ripped me off of it  .

Well that impresses the hell out of me because I suck at wheelies on street bikes, but I rule on my CR250R. [/quote]
please  i'm nobody, i can only ride a wheely for 6-8 blocks at max. i just don't do it enough to keep it balanced. i have indicated 140 for i think 1.2 miles on my 2k1 gix750, but i'm not used to the SV yet. once i get that damn 16t i should be able to go a mile at or about 100 even. truth is really good stunters can wheelie at 50-75 mph for 10 miles or so. I think i'll stick with keepin 2 wheels planted and my knee draggin at 130mph. thats my kinda bag baby! :niceone:

An indicated 162mph in France, (Wife aboard), I managed indicated 168mph on SP1, but the same road earlier in the year my R1 (1999 model) indicated 174mph..

So taking into consideration speedo's being so far off the higher you get, probably a realistc 150mph for the SV.
