That takes me back - Fizzy (mine a yellow DX) v AP50 races although a Garelli was quickest if it didn't seize (50+ head down a hill).
Have you seen the insane prices people pay for them now.
yeah, thats cos they can do 200 mph if you tuck down.

After mounting a speedohealer and double-checking it against a GPS, I clocked a real top speed of 235 km/h (=146 mph). Since the speedometer exaggerates heavily, the original reading was about 260 km/h (162 mph).

When you have been around bikes a while you will realise that this is very common particularly on Japanese bikes with speedos being up to 10% optimistic.

I like to think of this as a safety measure, and failed bragging rights.
On my 2005 Hyosung GT650R i would do a top speed of 125mph....coming from swaziland going to Johannesburg south africa pinned on that speed the engine blew, now am building an SV1000 hoping to get higher numbers once its up and running...just love how you can take a curve at 100mph and feel that engine rumbling as you just let off the throttle a bit and not worry about braking. :bigclap: inside my helmet

Briefly saw 165 MPH on my SV1000s, then came the 180 Turn... LOL! Made it, barely...Hey Gents,
I was wondering if everyone had their personal best top speed on an SV and what it might be. Not wanting to step on any toes and discuss illegal activities on here, but I was just curious. Mine is 153 mph or 246.3 kph here in the States. Any thoughts?
