I figured I'd start a thread here given that this went on my 1000.

TeeRiver over on SVRider designed/built an electronic device that gets attached to the speedometer board that adds various nice features:

Speedo adjustment, without changing odometer. We all know that the speedo on the SV is fairly far off, even with stock tires/gearing. The odometer isn't too bad (he claims 9%/1.2%). This lets you adjust the speedo display, without any change in miles put on the bike. You can adjust it in 1% intervals.

Voltmeter. You can display voltage where temperature typically is, and easily change back and forth.

Gear Position Indicator, using either the first digit of the speedo display or the first digit of the temperature display.

This is all installed inside the stock speedometer, with one wire added (it uses an empty pin in the stock plug, and runs down to the gear position sensor). It's all controlled with the adjust button, but only does things when you press it repeatedly - it doesn't interfere with normal use.

I had one installed and managed to try it out this past weekend, it's nice to know how fast you're going, and to have the other features added.

Cost is $40, plus $35 if you want him to install it (it requires soldering to surface mount components), plus shipping. Attached is the user's guide, there's an installation guide as well but it's too big to attach here.

FuelBot: Fuel Gauge and MPG Gauge for the SV650 - Anyone interested? - Suzuki SV650 Forum: SV650, SV1000, Gladius Forums is the thread about another project he's done, FuelBot, which I haven't tried (but might). His email is [email protected]

I have nothing to do with him, just promoting a good product.

I've got the 2nd Gen FuelBot which is a very handy little gizmo while the new 'MultiBot' is another thing altogether. TeeRiver is quite the industrious fellow...and a real credit to the SV community and motorcycling in general. Good man who knows the SV electrically better than most and is always willing to help people with problems.
