Hi oh learn-ed gentle-people......

My oil check window is, how do you say, filthy.....i had another F word in mind......

Yes, i know it can be replaced, but, does anyone have any ideas on cleaning it, even 50% better would be good, without removing the cover ?

What solvent could be put in to bathe it without damaging the clutch plates...of course some low grade cheap oil would be used to flush that out.......

I am thinking diesel fuel, but, not sure if it would clean it......

I use tweezers and a bit of shop towel torn off. Most of the stuff just wipes out without any cleaners.
