Suzuki SV1000 Registry

The SV1000 Registry (one of a bunch of Registries at micapeak.com) is a resource for owners of, and motorcyclists interested in, the Suzuki SV1000 V-twins. It contains information about mileage, accessories, modifications, problems & fixes, owner's email addresses, photos, etc. It may be updated in realtime by SV1000 owners, so it is always as current as the bike's owners want it to be...

Just had a browse through the SV1000 Registry again:

http://www.micapeak.com/reg/bikes/SV1000

Seems a shame that there are only 33 bikes listed and on considering that I realised we're all missing out on a potentially brilliant resource!

Imagine there being somewhere (a database) where you could at a glance see what tyres (tires) are most popular, what suspension changes riders are going for, what mods everyone has done, general comments/feedback etc etc etc

All it needs is for everyone to get there arse over there now and register your bike! (or revisit and update your entry)

Go for it....this could be brilliant!!!!

Already there - what puts people off is the fact that not many others are there and why should we register when we have this fantastic resource?

Any ideas who owns the registry and what they plan to do with the data?

The idea is to have a list of bikes that's easily browsed, a lot of info on one page.........somewhere where you can get an overview of each members bike.

I know it can all be found on the forum.....if you visit:
Tyre threads (many)
Suspension threads (many)
FAQs section
Images/Gallery sections
etc etc

By the very nature of this being a forum info is all over the place......not a critisism, I'm not detracting from this site (you know I'm an advocate! :) ).......just suggesting what I think could be a really good addition (and the work has already been done for us!).....all that's needed is more owners to register.

Not a concern.......it's been going for years without incident or critisism. The data you supply is up to the individual (although you do have to give the VIN no.for your bike.......but that's useless to anyone) e.g. I chose not to give my full name, location (other than Uk) or phone number etc.

In my opinion, safe.......and there are 20,537 bikes registered already (all makes)

Before I bought my Honda X11 I was searching the internet for advice and information on the bike. I stumbled across the registry and entered the bike make, it was a bit like mini reviews from each rider and it certianally helped me decide :niceone:

The site has been around since at least 99 as I registered my 99 SV650 back then. Actually posted the SV650 for sale there and had offers long after I sold her. Also registered my 97 TLS. I guess I will go and register the SV1KS too....

Looks like a pretty good site to me. Very basic, but it works. If you're looking for experiences with certain mods, you can search this database.
The numer of SV1000's has grown, about 41 SV1000's by now and 748 SV650's..

Will get round to adding my details on there soon and amending the previous ones.
This site has been around for as long as I have been on the internet, always worth a look, especially before buying a new make/model of bike.

FYI: The following from www.micapeak.com (where the SV1000 Register is hosted)

"Hi.

We got hacked. We're in the process of rebuilding the server after having nuked the site from orbit (it's the only way to be sure). This will take several days, because we're off at the FishFry. Let's hope we have it all done by Tuesday or Wednesday. But it started on 4/20, so it may take a while longer. Thanks for your patience.

-Marc and Carl"

I will attempt to contact them and find out what they mean by this and what if any data was compromised. More as and whenI have it.

Cheers
Bish
