The only one non-productive here is you (bloodhound); I was trying to be helpful, but you're just an A$$HOLE with a pea-sized brain.
For the benefit of the board, won't be back on this thread so this MF doesn't post again. Later gang.

By the way, thank you but this pictorial was put here to be followed I believe? So why would someone settle for riding a motorcycle with snatchy fuel injection that can be tuned out? I guess I am an asshole for trying to clear up a ride-ability issue:lol:

I am getting a custom map along with a fresh set of pilot powers and and 520 chain/sprocket convertion in a week or two.. I will post it up when I'm all done..

de snorkled, k&n, tank raised, full m4 2-1, 16 tooth front sprocket, PCIII, and this nifty mod just before she gets tuned! I am hoping for 120hp :p

Not to burst your bubble but that is very wishful thinking unless your talking at the crank which I am sure your not...

I hope you do though because I have many of the same stuff done to mine as well...

Kinda what I thought too but I've heard some good things about a 3 degree advancer, sounds cheap/easy enough

*correction** at the wheel I would like to see 115hp (meant bhp before) and 70 lb ft. after ~2k slapped at her w/o touching the enging she should be a blast at the track!!!
(first 1.5k were free due to my nieghbors gargantiuon (or however joo spell it) suburban)

anyhoo, I am curious to see how all these popular mods with my choice of air filter/exhaust pay out.. and once I get my map I will post it on PC site!!

Since there has been absolutely no one with an m4 whom has posted thiers!!
*p.s. that pisses me off, since I know people have them and wont share :|

To all those whom had one all this time.....:pistols: ..^..:wallbash:

Yay, my first award...all for defending my position on setting up the TPS as described in this sticky. Besides, the bag may come in useful sometime

Just make sure you get the shoes to match, sweety :D

I just finished "trying" to set my tps.. it goes to mid 0 at about 1400 and top 0 at 2400.. When I went to go adjust my sensor I found out that I had "misplaced" my 25 torx bit :p ohwell, it's good where it's at and I'm getting a custom map at the end of the month anyways..

OK...

Whoever thinks the TPS adjustment is a good idea is so full of shit that their toilet is jealous.

The handle on the back keeps my jealousy at bay

tps adjustment

I finally did the TPS adjustment. It was so easy, I wish I would have done it long before. Definitely the best bang for the buck for improving drivability. Very smooth now at low revs. I feel like I can do a slow speed agility course on it now.

My factory setting had the dash in the low position at idle, those bastards. It went to the middle position at about 1750rpm and the high position at about 2750rpm. I was able to adjust it to 1450.

After reading 14 pages of discussion about this delicate adjustment, I decided to only loosen the top screw and gently tap the TPS counterclockwise at the top to adjust it. When tightening it back down, however, it moves slightly clockwise. Try again. So I adjusted it to 1700 and when I tightened it back down it was perfect. Since I didn't loosen the bottom screw, there may be a tiny bit of torque on the TPS. I'll have to check it again later.

For those that haven't done this adjustment, I highly recommend it. I know some of you are scared, but it's really easy. You are not likely to mess anything up. Just remember to have a good seating in the screw head with the torx bit and remember that the adjustment is very minimal (mine was probably only about 1 degree difference). There is a painted stripe across the TPS and its mounting surface, so you can always backtrack.

And while you have the tank up, you can take out the intake snorkle, put in a high flow filter, remove or open up the airbox lid, do the PAIR mod, etc; or just get to know your bike better.

Thanks for taking the time Chewy

I've posted some tech procedures with pictures before, (though not as well done as yours) and know it takes more time than it appears to photo document everything while doing the procedure.

I referred back to your pictures to find the diagnostic connector and used wires with molex connector pins on them to slip into the same connector.
The throttle position sensor was about 1.K rpms 'late' when I checked it before the adjustment.

Adjusting the TPS was a bit like trying to fill a jigger with a fire hose (easy to over shoot).
It was 'techique sensitive' but taking my time I got the display line to change state just before the 1.5 rpm line on the bike's tachometer.

On my stock 2005 SVS the change in 'off to on' throttle response was so much improved that I couldn't believe how much I had been 'riding around' this problem I had come to accept.
And how this simple adjustment completely fixed it.
Thanks again.

P.S. I think (on a new bike) as the wear points between the throttle and sensor wear-in, the TPS will trail the throttle later and later.
The good news is, after wear-in and readjustment, it should hold adjustment a quite a bit longer.

My two cents

Others have said this already, so I'll keep it brief. Yep, found my set point up about 3500 rpm. Yep, it was easy to do the adjustment, about 30 minutes. Yep, it rides better when poking around town now. Hooray for Chewy! :punk:

I could only get my third bar to come up at about 1800 which is over Chewy's recommendation, but I figure it's close enough and don't we usually run over that unless idling at the lights anyway?

Best advice I took from this thread was: be CAREFUL with the fasteners. I was, and did not have any problems stripping anything, but I could tell they are soft. Scary. I hope they will hold my bike together.

Best thread ever!

Adjusted the TPS yesterday, the bike's a lot better today. If I hadn't seen this thread I would have left it alone, the middle bar was up at idle. Moved the sensor about so that the top bar came up at about 1500 rpm, now the bike is much smoother off idle. Big difference.

Thanks again!
