After a short ride to warm the bike up about 1/2 an hour but now having done it bet i could do yours in about 15 min now
That almost sounds like an offer :innocent: though I think the distance makes it unlikely!
Thanks for the info Chewy, will add this to my growing list of mods / enhancements to be done. :niceone:

Great How To article. I did mine today, it was out of spec (2500 RPM).

I wonder how it would affect a PC lll as DJ probably doesn't check to see if the TPS is correct.
Once you set the TPS against the bikes calibration, you then set the TPS calibration on the PCIII. This way they are in Sync.

"**WARNING**
The bolts are very hard to get to (especially the lower one) and are made of a very fine, soft French cheese!!!! "

The perfect tool for holding the Torx bit is a 1/4 inch box end ratchet wrench. Wrap the Torx bit shaft with a length of cigarette paper and it should be a firm fit into the wrench. Kind of like an off set screw driver.

Thanks for the info. Mine was set at 2650 rpm.

PS

Where did you obtain the 1450 rpm spec ?

No point in setting it up under this RPM.

So its self-imposed spec. LOL
Its that the rpm wher it starts to increase the fuel?
Does it make it run richer from that point on?
How does it affect the maping?
Could this be use to compensate for lean situation after mods?
Will this save me $300 from getting a PC?
Are these too many questions? :pistols:

I'm not very good with that sort of thing and have a VERY short fuse!

I'd heard Tim goes off quite quickly, some " STUD DELAY SPRAY" could help in that dept .

But back to bikes, mine seems smooth and I'm loath to fiddle and mess with it.
I haven't done any fuelling mods of any sort. I'd like extra power but don't want the hassel that could go with it.

That is not a very technical answer. Given the high tech of fuel injection systems with the various engine sensors feeding info to the central CPU, I would have expected a little more info. Is 1450 a number you chose or is it data from a knowledgeable source ?

Seems to me Suzuki and their team of engineers purposefully set the TPS to come "on line" at around 2,500 rpm and secured this setting with a very special fastener to reduce tampering.

It would be my guess that if we circumvent this setting we would change the fuel map and more fuel would be consumed accross the rev range.

1450 rpm This is where the fuel injection should start injecting more fuel into the engine so if it’s set too high the bike will be jerky at low speeds

This is one mod that is worth the time and effort because it really works. :supsmiley

I'm also using a PC3 with Yosh RS-3's Zyclones, but with this mod, the DJ 001 map, and no TRE, I really notice a difference. Much better throttle response and it just seems to run better. It's dead smooth everywhere. It even feels like some of the low to mid range has returned.

I can't tell you about fuel mileage as Winter is fast approaching and I haven't run a full tank of gas through it since the mod, but I guess if you're looking for or care for fuel economy, you should for something more sedate, IMHO. They still make Yugos, don't they? :D
Just kidding, but seriously, this is one mod that's worth it.

Thanks Chewy.

Come on UK chaps, has no one else done this?

Got to be worth a bottle of something to help me with mine! :supsmiley
Tim - I didnt do this but my garage did on my 15K service and it does make it smoother at low revs. The guy at the desk did say it is tricky though cause the adjustment is very sensitive.

And you notice the difference right?

Which garage was it? My bike is due a service and I may take it to the same on if they know what they are doing.

Thanks!
