I had my bike in at the local bike shop to get a new front tire put on and he mensioned that my clutch switch may need replacing. When i was pulling the clutch in the revs would slightly rise (Ive seen threads talkings about this somewhere else) Anyway, i put the new switch on and now the revs stay the same with the clutch in or out. i guess the contacts get worse with age...Simple fix.

see attached photo...

Also my Bike...

This makes no sense...

The clutch switch basically serves one purpose - it prevents the engine from being started if the clutch lever is not pulled in.

Unless your bike has a TRE, the clutch switch shouldn't affect revs when the transmission is in neutral.

If you do have a TRE, the revs actually should drop with the clutch in.

I've noticed on my 05 that with or without the TRE, when I start to ease the clutch OUT, the revs increase by a couple hundred rpm. I usually 2 finger it and when I plop the bike in gear, the revs jump up a little. If I have the clutch to the bar and put it in gear, revs stay the same as in neutral until I ease it out to 2 finger gap. Really just an observation as everything works just fine on the bike.
