It is all in what you prefer. 19X18 gives a little bit softer lever and bit more of a progressive feel. 19X20 gives a stiffer lever and snappier brake feel. I know people who use both and love them. We even swapped one around on my friends GSX-R at the track. We had two fulls sets of brakes calipers, masters and lines ready to go so the swap was easy. He liked the 19X18 better. I did the same thing and like the 19X20 better. I would nudge you towards the 19X20 for race application though.
I've the stock master cylinder with GSXR1000 K8 radial calipers (I've got the USD fork front end on). I tested it on the street and at the track, (Buttonwillow, Mosport and Calabogie). I do not feel any need to upgrade the master.
Great feel, lots of power, no fade.
In fact, I had the radial master that came with the GSXR front end but could not make it fit with the throttle cables and the fairing, not without getting longer throttle cables.
