Re fitted my stv plates yesterday so thought I’d check they were operating within tolerance, they were way out 😂 re adjusted them and went for a spin the the difference it made having them on was really noticeable, don’t know why people remove them, unless it’s a track only bike then not really much point

I finally did this. I had a vibration that happened around 3000 RPM, and it is gone. I re-adjusted the throttle position sensor while I was at it. Everything is really cleaned up below 5000 RPM, and got rid of that last vibration I had after having my JB Weld reinforced flywheel professionally balanced. The bike is really smooth now! I’m glad I finally read this and got it done!

Never been able to get my STPS to read the closed reading, but, i was told by a Suzy tech that the open setting is the important one.....4.38ohm.... get that right and the bike definetly is smoother....

I have never removed my plates though.... maybe , one day.....

I could not get that one perfect. There wasn’t quite enough adjustment. It’s at about 4.5 ohm.

2 things... either your STPS is stuffed......or, the two shafts are out of wack to each other..... i found that if you have the plates dead flat
on each throttle body, in relation to the top of the TB, then you will have more luck..... Set the front one using the adjuster screw between it and
the STV motor, then the back one with the adjuster on the end of the link shaft.... or, set them both perfectly vertical, dont really matter
Then check your wide open setting again.......
( i got desperate when my STPS was shite years ago and adjusted the butterfly a tiny bit to get the 4.38...ha ha...thna i bought a new STPS )
